Beyond the “baby blues”
The early weeks and months of parenthood bring a swirl of emotions. While the “baby blues” are temporary, some parents experience deeper, longer-lasting changes in mood, energy, or thought patterns. This is where Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) come in—like postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, or PTSD.
What I Offer as a Perinatal Mood Wellness Coach
I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space to:
- Normalize what you’re experiencing—because you’re not alone.
- Teach coping tools and wellness practices for stress, overwhelm, and mood changes.
- Explore holistic strategies such as grounding, journaling, rituals, and herbs to complement your care plan.
- Help you strengthen communication with your partner, family, or support system.
- Empower you to create routines and boundaries that prioritize your healing.
- Connect you with appropriate professional or community resources when needed.
Baby Blues vs. PMADs
- Baby Blues – short-lived, usually within the first 2 weeks postpartum, marked by mood swings, tearfulness, and overwhelm.
- PMADs – longer-lasting and more intense. Can show up during pregnancy or up to a year postpartum, and may involve persistent sadness, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or panic.
